Managed and operated by the City of Casey in Melbournes Southeast suburbs, the Old Cheese Factory was originally part of the historic Springfield Estate. Visitors take a step back in time and explore the historic buildings, including the Homestead Café, or enjoy the beautifully landscaped gardens, large children’s playground, and barbecue/picnic facilities.
The majestic Old Cheese Factory, featuring the 1860s historic Springfield Homestead, Cheese Factory and Kitchen Wash House, stands as a tall reminder of early Australian history.
The Homestead Café is a great place for scrumptious lunch, homemade scones, coffee or High Tea with family and friends, a work meeting or to celebrate a special occasion, baby shower or wedding reception. Within the Café and gardens, a number of both small and larger venues are available to suit a range of purposes. .
The grounds have a variety of rooms and areas ideal and available for birthday parties, Christmas functions, conferences or that special occasion, ranging in size from 10 to 150. All rooms are located within the grounds and surrounded by gardens, easy access to playgrounds, barbecues and toilets with ample parking for both cars and buses.
The facilities offer a wide variety of ways to celebrate your wedding. Our various packages offer flexibility and can suit your requirements ranging from the most intimate of gatherings for 20 guests to an elaborate grand scale event of up to 400 people. You can select a Homestead catered wedding package or a self-planned wedding option, allowing you maximum flexibility to tailor and coordinate your special day.
